Betty Lou Freier, 80, Bismarck, died July 29, 2021, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 1 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck. Family will greet visitors beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Betty was born on June 4, 1941, the sixth of nine children to Jacob and Tillie Freier. She attended rural farm school through the eighth grade and later graduated from Streeter High School in 1961. Betty later attended Christy’s Beauty School and had a 50-year career at Plaza Hair Center. She was both a passionate and dedicated hair stylist. She served her clients selflessly, always meeting their needs. She shared in their lives and considered many clients as her family. 

Always a loyal fan, Betty enjoyed spending time watching sporting events. Some of her favorites were the Atlanta Braves, Green Bay Packers and her family’s high school sporting events.

Betty was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Betty is survived by her siblings, Esther Perman, Streeter, Terry (Sara) Freier, Mesa, Ariz., and Tom (Melinda) Freier, Kindred; sisters-in-law, Joyce Freier, Medina, Sandy Freier, Mesa, Ariz., and Coreen Joblinski-Freier, Bismarck; 15 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings, Frances Perman, Eugene Freier, Larry Freier, Lonnie Freier and Floyd Freier; brothers-in-law, Glen Perman and Wallace Perman; and nephew, Troy Perman.
