Kathryn “Kathy” Kay Tofteland, 77, Minot, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in a Garrison hospital.
Kathryn was born May 26, 1948, in Minot, ND to Leon and Marie (Ross) Beeter. She was educated in Sawyer and graduated with the Sawyer High School Class of 1966.
Kathy was united in marriage to James Tofteland on June 19, 1970 in Minot. They made their home in Minot for most of their lives, but did spend a little more than a decade in Bismarck following her husband’s work, returning to Minot in 1994. They were blessed with two daughters.
Being a mother was her greatest joy. She gave endlessly of herself, always putting the needs of her children first and creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. This love carried to her grandchildren, proudly following activities and celebrating their accomplishments as well.
Kathy was known for her cooking and hosting family holidays. She found joy in the outdoors, spending many summer days and nights at both Lake Audubon and Sakakawea. She will be deeply missed by all who shared in her life.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband of more than 55 years, James, Minot; daughters Dawn (Russell) Pegors, Coleharbor, ND and Denice (Michael) Bachmeier, Bismarck, ND; grandchildren Jayden and Kaelie Pegors and Mabry Bachmeier; siblings Clint (Karen) Beeter, Logan, ND, Connie Anderson, rural Minot, ND, Donna (Barry) Schlosser, Logan, ND and Darla (Bill) Felber, Surrey, ND along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, brother Larry (Mary) Beeter, sister Karen (Alley) Sutter and brother-in-law Richard Anderson.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
Visitation: Monday, December 22, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
