Jacqueline “Jackie” Fay Richardson 95 of Wilkes-Barre, PA formerly of Minot, ND, passed away June 22, 2025 at Highland Park Senior Living after being read 2 prayers by her daughter. She is with the Lord for that we are blessed. Born September 25,1929 in Portal, North Dakota, she was the daughter of the late May Victoria Gunn and Jacob Brockel. She was eight of nine children and the last remaining.
She was a 1947 graduate of Portal High School where she lettered in track and basketball. After high school she moved to Minot, ND. She married Robert Richardson in 1950, together they had three children. He died in 1998.
She worked 40+ years as a bank teller, and in the safety deposit department. She retired in 1995 from Wells Fargo. After she retired she traveled the world going to places where her daughter was stationed to care for her grandson. In particular she loved Germany. For many years she would walk at the Dakota Square Mall and then have coffee with her fellow walkers. This kept her young and active. She was blessed with many friends, co-workers and neighbors over the years. She loved flowers, especially purple ones and all wildlife.
She loved sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings, San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos and the Minnesota Twins.
Jackie was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Minot North Dakota. Jackie had a beautiful soprano voice, and sang in the choir at First Presbyterian. She moved to Wilkes Barre in 2021 during the covid epidemic and lived there until her passing.
She was preceded in death by her children Donald Richardson and Shawn Richardson and siblings Valerie,Lillian, Jacob-Daryl, Inez, Clare, Virgil, Clayton and Gwendolyn.
Survived by her daughter Robin Erchinger and her husband Dr. Thomas Erchinger, Mountain Top, PA; grandchildren Elsa Blomgren and her husband Eric Minneapolis MN and Capt Christian Erchinger USAF and his wife Victoria Spokane WA along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank all the people who cared for our mother and grandmother. Especially The View in Minot ND and Highland Park.
A memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. EST on July 5, 2025 at St Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1000 S. Main St. Wilkes-Barre PA.
Visitation will be held at 9:30 EST with the service to follow at 10 EST

Interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery Minot, ND.
