Lorraine Forsman, 88, of Ryder, ND, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and caretaker, she leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Roseglen, ND.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, with a prayer service starting at 7:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison, ND.

Lorraine was born in Minot, ND to Anton and Fern (Slocum) Kolden. She grew up in Minot and attended school there. Lorraine met Emil Jr. Forsman and the two were united in marriage on June 11, 1953. Together they had five children. They made their home on the family farm in Amundsville Township.
Lorraine grew up with strong values rooted in faith, family, and hard work. She spent much of her life as a proud farm wife, side by side with her husband, managing the demands of rural life with grit and grace.
Lorraine’s kitchen was the heart of her home. She always had cookies, cake, and comforting meals that brought her family together. And no matter the time of day, she always had a fresh pot of coffee brewing- ready for visitors, neighbors, or anyone who needed a warm welcome and listening ear.
As a mother, and grandmother, Lorraine was a steady, loving presence- always ready with a gentle word, a story from the past, and a twinkle in her eye. She was a caretaker in every sense of the word, finding joy in making others feel safe, fed, and loved.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Russell (Lucy) Forsman, Sara Forsman, and Bruce Forsman; grandchildren, Mandie (Carter) Medalen, Stefanie (Anthony) Williamson, Shawn and Michelle Forsman, Jessica (Dana) Welder and Kaelyn Forsman, Alex (Sabrina), Cassie and Kisa Dschaak; and many great and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra Rue.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emil Jr.; children, Jeanette Pitcher, Steven Forsman; siblings, Ann, Duane, Joyce, and Ron.
