Leif Aaron Snyder passed away at home on March 12, 2025, due to complications from diabetes. He was 51 years old at the time of his passing. 

Leif was born in Minot, ND on April 17, 1973, to Lee and Eileen (Westereng) Snyder. He graduated from Minot High School in 1991. He held a variety of jobs over the years, ranging from the food service industry to coaching hockey to working as an independent contractor. He was meticulous and detail-oriented in everything he did.  Most recently, he was actively engaged in the Minot political scene, running for City Council in 2024. Leif enjoyed playing and coaching hockey, celebrating Leif Erikson Day and Syttende Mai, cycling, and discussing politics with anyone and everyone. 

Leif is survived by his father, Lee of Marshall, MN; brothers Lynn of Minot and Lyle (Emily) of Marshall, MN, and their children Astrid and Tor; his Brittany Spaniel Dixie; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Eileen, his grandparents, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation/Booksigning: Sunday, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot
