Ramond Neshem, 81, Des Lacs, ND, died Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in a Minot hospital surrounded by his loving family from complications of cancer.
Ramond Kent Neshem was born May 23, 1943 in Minot to Elias G. and Josephine (Losby) Neshem. He graduated from Des Lacs High School and attended Minot State College.
He married Shirley Myregard on January 30, 1965. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. A little known fact is they also shared the same baby doctor at their birth and were blessed to share a daughter Ramona and a son Gene.
Ramond was a farmer and rancher his entire life. He had worked at Harrington Livestock and Minot Livestock weighing cattle and did local crop spraying for over thirty years.
He was an avid car and tractor collector who enjoyed motorcycles, even taking a trip to Banff, Canada with his wife. A deep sea fishing trip in the Pacific Ocean was a treasured memory in addition to the yearly family trip. Ramond was a world traveler who made it to eighteen countries!
Ramond was on the board of directors for the Farm Bureau for a few years, attending many conventions stretching to Mobile, Alabama. He was the runner-up for the Farmer and Rancher of the Year and drove in many ND State Fair Parades. Ramond was a member of the Assembly of God (now Journey Church) in Minot all of his life. He loved the Lord with all his heart.
Our family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone at Sanford Cancer Center and Trinity Health for the excellent care of our husband, father and grandfather at the end of his journey on Earth.
Ramond is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley; children Ramona (Brian) Haman and Gene Neshem, all of rural Des Lacs, ND; brothers Jim (Lannette) Neshem, Galen (Rodella) Neshem, and Eddie Neshem; nephew Clint (Sara) Neshem and their children Finnley, Sloan and Scout; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
