Linda Richter

Linda Richter, 60, Minot, died Monday, December 30, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Linda Marie (Maki) Richter was born on October 12, 1964 in Stanley, North Dakota to Parents Ernest and Adeline (Lahti) Maki. She was raised on a farm near Belden,ND and graduated from Stanley High School in 1982. Following high school, Linda attended college at Minot State University for a year, and then completed her associate’s degree in accounting at NDSCS in Wahpeton.

Linda began a lifelong career at Farstad Oil in Minot in 1985. She held various positions in administration up until June of 2023 when she retired. Linda was once married to Peter Richter. They were blessed with a daughter, Jordyn, in May of 1998. 

During her free time, Linda enjoyed reading, and watching several different TV shows with her daughter. Their favorite being Dancing With The Stars. Linda liked to shop. Locally, Target being her favorite, and occasionally making trips with Jordyn to the Mall of America. Many times with Jordyn, Judy, and Maci, she traveled south to Tulsa, OK to visit her sister and family. While there they enjoyed relaxing at Grand Lake, taking in some concerts…and shopping. After her retirement she cherished the time she spent with her daughter and precious grand babies, Adeline and Collins. She enjoyed her special relationship she had with her son-in-law, Joe. 

Linda was a longtime member of Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Minot, ND. She will be remembered most as a devoted mother, sister, and grandmother. Her loving and caring ways extended far beyond her family and were cherished by many. 

Linda’s loving family includes: her daughter, Jordyn (Joe) Audet, Minot, ND; sister, Judy (Kelly) Abrahamson, Berthold, ND; brothers, Ron (Carole) Maki, Menoken, ND and Kevin Maki, Minot, ND; sister, Cheryl (Denny) Larson, Broken Arrow, OK; grandchildren, Adeline Audet and Collins Audet; nephews, Corey (Jenny) Longtine, Wichita, KS; Josh (Cheryl) Maki, Wichita, KS; Chris Larson, Tulsa, OK; Ashlee Larson, Broken Arrow, OK; Kyle (Ashley) Abrahamson, Berthold, ND; Maci (Logan) Behm, Beulah, ND; great-nieces and nephews, Chloee Larson, Tenley Behm, Kwincy Abrahamson, Layton Behm, Kyndall Abrahamson and numerous cousins. 

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Celebration of Life Service: Monday, January 6, 2025 at Our Redeemer’s Church, Minot. Starting at 12:30 p.m. with a visitation 1 hour prior to the start of the service.
Interment: Belden Finnish Cemetery, Belden, North Dakota.
