Barbara Elaine Bell, 70, Minot, died Monday, July 26, 2021, in a Minot hospital with her loving husband at her side.
Barbara was born May 3, 1951, in Bottineau, ND to Willmer and Alvina (Berg) Marzolf. She graduated from Bottineau High School in 1969 and attended Jack’s Hair Stylist College in Minot, ND.
Barbara was united in marriage to Gregory Bell in Bottineau, ND in October 1971. They made their home in Minot and were blessed with the birth of a son, Stewart.
Barbara was employed in the Minot Public School system for over twenty years in the hot lunch program. She loved cooking in the kitchen and treasured the relationships she made during her tenure.
Barbara was a member of First Lutheran Church, Minot and Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Bottineau. She also enjoyed reading, tending to her flowers and her “quiet time” sitting on the deck. Barb loved to make cakes and other treats for family and friends. Chocolate was her favorite ingredient and Sunday dinners were only complete with a homemade dessert. She will be missed deeply by all who shared in her life.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Greg, and son Stewart, both of Minot; sisters Lori Pladson, Bottineau, ND, and Linda Light, Souris, ND; brothers Tim Marzolf and David Marzolf, both of Bottineau, ND along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and sister Donna Prellwitz.
Celebration of Barbara’s Life: 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2021, at First Lutheran Church, Minot. A livestream of the service will be available by accessing www.firstlutheran.tv
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to an organization of the donor’s choice.
