Billie Myre, 74, of Lake Metigoshe, formerly of Minot passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024 at Trinity Cancer Care Cottage with her loving family at her side. She had courageously battled Pancreatic Cancer for the past 15 months.

Born on July 20, 1950, in Minot, to William and Helen (Solar) Tkachenko, Billie was raised and educated there graduating from Minot High School in 1968.

On April 13, 1973, she married Carter Myre at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot. Billie had a lifelong passion for caring for others and she touched the lives of many. She was a daycare provider, first in her home and later at Trinity Daycare Center. Her dedication to caring extended to the elderly as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Medical Aide at Trinity Nursing Home, where she brought compassion and kindness to her work.

Billie spent countless hours supporting her children’s extracurricular activities. She volunteered as a school room mom and proudly boasted the titles of Hockey Mom, Gymnastics Mom, and Cheer Mom. She was a devoted grandmother who cherished quality time with her four grandchildren.

After retirement in 2016, Billie and Carter divided their time between their summer home at Lake Metigoshe and winters in San Tan Valley, Arizona. Billie was a member of the YMCA of Minot and San Tan Valley. She thrived in the sunshine and enjoyed walks with friends, hiking scenic trails, and tending to her flower garden. She was an avid cook and baker and loved to try new recipes. She enjoyed exploring thrift stores for treasures and treating herself to spa time.

Family meant everything to Billie. Her loving family includes her husband of 51 years: Carter; children: Tausha (Michael) Redmond and Erik (Teal) Myre; grandchildren: Elizabeth and Jillian Redmond, and Barrett and Bridger Myre; brother: Randy Tkachenko; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
