Jack Seibel

Jack Seibel, 70 Minot, formerly of Tioga, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 5, 2024, surrounded by his loving family in a Minot hospital.

Jack William Seibel was born on September 4, 1954, in Minot, ND, to Eddie and Helene (Schneider) Seibel. He grew up in Ross, ND and graduated from Stanley High School in 1972. A dedicated wrestler in his youth, Jack carried his passion for the sport throughout his life, coaching and cheering for his grandchildren with pride.

After high school, Jack enlisted in the United States Navy as a hull technician. Following his service, he returned home and married Connie Blikre, on April 19, 1975. The couple moved to Wahpeton, ND, where Jack pursued his college education. They settled in Tioga, ND, where Jack and Connie started a family, welcoming daughter Kelli and later son Taylor.

During their time in Tioga, Jack served as a police commissioner, volunteer firefighter, first responder, wrestling coach, and bus driver. His commitment to the community extended to various boards and organizations. He was a dedicated member of Zion Lutheran Church and a life member of the fire and ambulance department. Jack worked in various roles, including Tioga Air Heaters, Power Fuels, and Tioga High School, leaving a lasting impact on those around him.

After retiring, Jack and Connie moved to Minot, where they enjoyed golfing, puzzles, games and traveling to destinations including Seattle, Coeur d’ Alene, Black Hills, Branson, Minneapolis, Glacier National Park, San Francisco, Arizona, and Las Vegas. Currently, they were members of Our Redeemers Church, Minot. Jack took immense joy in watching his grandsons wrestle and play football, cherishing the time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The title of great grandpa brought him great joy! Jack will be remembered for his unwavering love for family, dedication to his community, and the joy he brought to the lives of those who knew him.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Connie Seibel, Minot; children Taylor Seibel, Minot and Kelli (Paul) Mattern, Beach, ND; grandchildren Makensie (Greyson) Stedman, Clay Mattern (Julia), and Tyson Mattern (Abbie); great-grandchildren Bennett Stedman, Noah Stedman, and a soon-to-be baby Mattern; sister Delores (Glenn) Lee and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Helene, sister Diane Seibel and brothers Jim, Robert, and Eddie Jr. Seibel.

Celebration of Life for Jack Seibel: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Our Redeemer’s Church, Minot with visitation held one hour prior to the start of the service in the church.
