Wayne Laudenschlager, 86, Minot died on Thursday, August 22, 2024 in his home with his family at his side.

Wayne LeRoy Laudenschlager was born on May 24, 1938 in Minot, ND to Ben and Eleanor (Haugen) Laudenschlager.  He was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1956.  Wayne married Fern Wahl on June 1, 1957 in Bethany Lutheran Church – Minot.  They made their home in Minot where he was employed by Montgomery Wards, Culligan, Bonebrake Plumbing and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad from 1966 until he retired in 2000 as a Switchman/Brakeman.  Also, he assisted his father with the operation of the family farm.

Wayne was a member of the NoDak Race Club, United Transportation Union (U.T.U.) and Vincent United Methodist Church.  He especially enjoyed snowmobiling, camping and attending car races.

Wayne’s loving family includes his wife of 67 years Fern; children: Nanette Rasmuson of Buxton ND, Jay (Jan) Laudenschlager and Melisa (Randy) Ellison all of Minot and Jim Laudenschlager of WA; grandchildren: Jaimie (Rick) Gunderson and Kiel (Melisa) Rasmuson, Erik (Lacey) Laudenschlager, Adam (Kenya) Laudenschlager and Jerad (Miranda) Laudenschlager; several great grandchildren and his furry friend Nicki.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws: Harold and Etta Wahl, daughter: Pammy Jo, son-in-law: Don Rasmuson and Furry Friends: Sam and Tiny.

A Private Funeral Service will be held at the Thomas Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park – Minot.
Visitation: Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home – Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the Souris Valley Animal Shelter.
