Warren DeVore, 66, passed away peacefully on Aug. 12, 2024 in Mandan, ND after suffering from dementia for the last couple of years.  Warren was born on May 30, 1958 to Elwood and Virginia (Jeske) DeVore of Dawson, ND.

Warren attended school in Steele and was a member of the graduating class of 1976.  Over the years he worked in Arizona as a postal worker, Oregon managing a potato farm operation, moving back to North Dakota he farmed and raised cattle and his final occupation was operating his butcher shop in Steele.  Enjoying times on adventures hunting, camping and fishing were some of his fondest memories.  At his farm he treasured watching and feeding the wildlife, from pheasants to the deer.  He took pride in caring for his yard and the garden.

During his illness he experienced great care from the amazing staff at the Golden Manor in Steele where he became a part of a remarkable “family”.  In March of 2024 he moved to the Edgewood of Mandan Memory Care facility making the best of his days.  In May he became a patient of the Caring Edge Hospice.

There will be a graveside service held on Saturday, October 12, at the Dawson Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Marvin Winstryg officiating.  Cremation has taken place.

Warren is survived by his two brothers;  Doug (Nancy) DeVore and David DeVore of Steele, two daughters;  Nichole (Jesse) Wolff, of Bismarck and Ginger (Carl) Reis, of Menoken, five grandchildren;  Austin and Ashton Kapp, Clayton, Sawyer and Maverick Reis, two nephews, Tyler (Crystal) DeVore and Jason DeVore, of Steele and Warren’s noteworthy friend Gayle Cook, of Jamestown.
