Beverly Jean Kokkeler, 93, Bismarck, died on August 10, 2024 at CHI St. Alexius Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 10:00am central time at Our Saviour’s  Evangelical Lutheran Church 1615 North 18th Street Bismarck, with Reverend Thomas M. Moldenhauer officiating.  Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan ND.  Visitation will be held from 5-7pm central time on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the Bismarck Funeral Home.

Beverly was born on October 2, 1930 in Kidder County, ND on a farm to Adam and Margaret (Craft) Koestler.  She was raised in Tappen, ND and graduated from Tappen High School in 1948.  She attended Valley City Teachers College, later teaching in Woodworth, ND.

Beverly moved to Minnesota and worked at a bank.  There she met Clemens Kokkeler.  On January 24, 1954 Clemens and Beverly married in St. Paul, MN.  The couple then moved to Bismarck and started Kokkeler’s Jewelry in 1955.  The Kokkeler’s provided stunning jewelry and renowned customer service in Downtown Bismarck.  Beverly’s specialty was working with customers.

She enjoyed her church and was involved in several aspects.  She also led a very physical lifestyle focusing on her health.  She was known for her kindness, respect and elegant outfits.

Beverly is survived by daughter, Yvonne “Bonnie” (Elmer) Mattis; brother, Chuck (Joan) Koestler; brother-in-law, Wes Nicholson and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Margaret Koestler; husband, Clemens Kokkeler; sisters, Marge Thorsness and Levone Nicholson.
