Susan (Sue) Dunbar, age 68, Bismarck, ND (formerly of Regan) passed away on June 29th, 2024, at Sanford Health, Bismarck, surrounded by family.
A memorial service will be held at Bismarck Funeral Home on July 6th, 2024, at 10 am. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Cremation will follow the service with burial at a later date.
Susan was born on May 25, 1956, to Ivan Lange and Donna (Schumacher) Berg in Jamestown ND. She was the third child of four. She married Wade Dunbar on September 24, 1976. They farmed and ranched in Regan until April 2001 when they moved to Bismarck.
Susan enjoyed reading, baking, yard work, photography, quilting (donating many quilts to Pride Inc, the Cancer Society, and Ronald McDonald house), and spending time with her family. Her grandkids were her life. She was always finding things to do with them whether it was baking, crafting, or just hanging out.
She was constantly pressing herself to learn more and advance at work and in life. She ranched, worked at St. Alexius (Physical Therapy & Occupational Therapy), Burleigh County Social Services, and retired in June 2018 from DHS at the State of North Dakota.
Susan is survived by her son’s Toby Dunbar of Bismarck, Chad (Megan) Dunbar of Bismarck; daughter, Alicia (Russ) Doll of Mandan; grandsons, Cutter and Waylon Doll; and granddaughter, Emma Dunbar.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Wade Dunbar; parents, Ivan Lange and Donna Berg; mother and father-in-law, Everett and Gladys Dunbar; three brothers, Darrel Lange (Idaho), James Lange (Idaho), and Bruce Lange (Bismarck).
