Sheryl Lynn Goben, 77, passed away June 12, 2024. Burial will take place on June 19 at 2pm at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, North Dakota.
Sheryl was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota on November 24, 1946 to Roy and Irene (Sieler) Goben. She attended schools in Iowa, North and South Dakota, graduating from Mobridge High School with the class of 1964.
She joined the United States Army in 1965 and was stationed in Belgium, South Korea and Hawaii. Sheryl was a program analyst and retired in 1985 as a SGT 1st class. She then went on to attend Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD from 1986 to 1989 and received a Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Sheryl worked and lived in Bismarck, ND, Glenham, SD, and Mobridge, SD before moving to the North Dakota Veterans Home in Lisbon, ND in 2024.
She is survived by her siblings, Cynthia (Hal) Stroot, Dale Goben, Robert (Jan) Goben, Gloria Vaughn, Mercy Bandy, Melanie (Rick) Campbell and Ann Campbell as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Irene Goben; brothers, Terrance Goben and Ronnie Goben; niece, Helen Beth; nephews, Michael Goben and Brian Goben; four brothers-in-law, Dennis Baumann, Gary Campbell, Bob Vaughn and Mike Bandy.
