Dennis was born on September 23, 1951, in Richardton, ND, to Michael and Veronica (Senn) Greff. He attended Glen Ullin High School and graduated in 1970. After high school, he enlisted in the Army National Guard in September 1970, serving for six years. He was inducted into the Glen Ullin Hall of Fame as part of the Glen Ullin High School Basketball Team of 1970. Dennis worked as a butcher for the majority of his career until he retired in 2014.

Dennis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed all sports, but had a particular passion for playing golf with his family. He found joy in spending one to one time with the love of his life, Marilyn. He liked to keep himself busy doing odd jobs with his “buddy” (brother-in-law), Jerry (Ell). Dennis was always the first person to help when anyone needed it.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Marilyn; two daughters, Carissa (Tom) Schmidt and Crystal (Michael) Neumann, both of Bismarck; stepdaughter Sara (Zach) Benson of Apple Valley, MN; seven grandchildren, Alex, Abby, and Zach Schmidt, Vincent and Edison Neumann, and Bonham and Lola Benson; six brothers, Joe (Judy) Greff of Mandan, Duane (Margie) Greff of Bismarck, Bob (Sandy) Greff of Midland, MI, Alvin Greff of Glen Ullin, Craig (Mary) Greff of Bismarck, and Perry Greff of Glen Ullin; three sisters, Phyllis Glaser of Mandan, Germaine Jensen of Mound, MN, and Patty (Matt) Steckler of Bismarck; and numerous nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Walter Meidinger; brother, Eugene Greff; sister-in-law, Annette Greff; and two brothers-in-law, Dan Jensen and Bill Glase.
