DuWayne Glein, 89, Minot and formerly of Berthold died on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 in a Fargo hospital from complications related to kidney and heart issues.  His family was at his side.

DuWayne Edward Glein was born on May 29, 1935 in Berthold, ND to Leonard and Alice (Gunderson) Glein. He was raised and educated in Berthold and graduated from Berthold High School in 1953.  As a young adult, DuWayne was employed by the Great Northern Railroad.

DuWayne married Inez Anderson on December 17, 1955 at Zion Lutheran Church in Berthold. They made their home in Berthold where DuWayne was employed at Farmers Union Oil Company.  DuWayne became employed by Al Jundt at Texaco Service Station in Williston in 1958 later moving the family to Minot to work at Broadway Texaco in 1960. He began his truck driving career at Midwest Motor Express in 1966. He finished his career as a truck driver with Cenex Transport and Lewis Truck Line prior to his retirement in 1994. Post-retirement DuWayne was employed by Fegley Farms of Berthold for many spring and fall seasons.  

DuWayne was a member of Bread of Life Lutheran Church and a former member of Augustana Lutheran Church. He spent many years as a church booth volunteer at the Norsk Hostfest. DuWayne enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, woodworking and watching sporting events especially the Minnesota Vikings and Twins.

DuWayne’s loving family includes his wife of 68 years: Inez; children: Roxann (Dave) Berndt of Northfield MN, Kristi (Ken) Hartleib of Mandan and Kyle Glein of Minot; sisters-in-law: Linda Glein of Apollo Beach FL and Marge Anderson; six grandchildren: Brenton Hartleib, Brannon Hartleib, Brock Hartleib, Mandi Berndt, Alisa Berndt-Jamshidi and Skylar Glein; nine great-grandchildren: Micah, Logan, Nevin, Nash, Kendahl, Madison, Sawyer, Jase and Eva; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

DuWayne was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Evelyn Hatlestad, Aldon Glein and Ardeen Glein

Celebration of the Life of DuWayne Glein:  Wednesday, June 12,  2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Bread of Life Lutheran Church-Minot.  A livestream of the service may be viewed by using https://www.facebook.com/pg/breadoflifeminot/videos/?ref=page_internal
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park – Minot.
Visitation: Tuesday  from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home – Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Bread of Life Lutheran Church.
