Ronald Monson, 88, of Bismarck, passed away June 8, 2024. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 14, 2024 at Faith Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with Pastor Sylvia Bull officiating. Visitation will be at 10 am, with Services at 11 am. Burial will take place at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Ronald was born on September 8, 1935 in Flasher ND, to Gilbert and Gertrude (Peterman) Monson. He was raised and attended school there, graduating with the class of 1954 from Flasher High School.
On June 25, 1960, he married Barbara Schwartz in Flasher, ND. Together they made their life on the family farm where they raised their three children. Ronald took great pride in the grains and cattle he produced. Upon retirement, in 1990 they moved to Bismarck, ND. Barbara later passed away in 2011.
Ronald enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, bingo and listening to old time music.
He is survived by his son, David (Shelly) Monson, daughter, Ronnell (Casey) Kulish; and son, Darryl (Virginia) Monson; grandchildren, Branden (Alicia), Katelynne, Cassandra, Alexandra, Emily, and Kristyna; great-grandchildren, Easton, Skylee, and Grayson; sisters, Marianne (Jim) Soriano, Lynette Schmeichel, and many nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; wife Barbara; sister, Coletta Kuhn and brothers-in-law, Ray Kuhn and Jim Schmeichel.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Faith Lutheran Church.
