Carole L. Lacher, 73, passed away on May 11, 2024 in a Bismarck Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Monday May 20, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bismarck Funeral Home. Burial will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Carole Lou Stolz was born on Feb. 16, 1951 to Rudy and Esther (Strandemo) Stolz. She was raised in Baldwin and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1969. She met Howard Lacher while working at Ken’s Flower Shop and they were married on Sept. 4, 1969. They moved to Minneapolis in 1970 where they both worked at North Memorial Medical Center. While in Minneapolis their two daughters were born. Susan Lynn in 1972 and Paula Joan in 1973. They moved back to Bismarck in 1975. Carole worked at United Accounts for three years and then started working at St. Alexius Medical Center in 1979. She attended BSC and received a certification in Purchasing. Carole was the Cert. Materials Management Specialist at St. Alexius Inpatient Pharmacy for 37 years. She truly enjoyed her job and made many friends while working at St. Alexius.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Howard, one daughter, Susan (Leon) Bauer, of Baldwin, four grandsons, Shelby, Luke (Autum) and Ryan Bauer and Hayden Schulz, one sister, Marlene Franklund, of Bismarck and one brother, Bernie (Micki) Stolz, of Bismarck, one nephew, Carey Stolz, of Minneapolis and two nieces, Callie Stolz, of Big Sky, MT and Andrea Howard, of Atlanta, GA, two sisters-in-law, Betty Berger, of Miles City, MT, Yvonne Lacher, of Rapid City, SD.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Paula Lacher, her parents, Rudy and Esther Stolz, her mother and father-in-law, Joe and Elsie Lacher, four brothers-in-law, Dwight Franklund, Gordon and Lester Lacher and Verlyn Berger, two sisters-in-law Theresa and Gladys Lacher, one nephew Darel Lacher and one great niece, Jenna Lacher.
