Terrall (Terry) L. Cooper, 77, Bismarck passed away May 9th, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. Terry had sporadic inclusion body myositis for the last 15 years and through it all he kept an upbeat and positive attitude.

Terry was born May 9th, 1947, in Ortonville Minnesota to Arlynn Cooper and Fay Peterson. Growing up he was always on the go with his friends. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, golfing, pheasant hunting in SD and meeting up with the guys for beers.

Terry moved to Mitchell, SD, and there he worked as a firefighter and EMT as well as started his electrical career. There he met his wife, Jane Lambert. His electrical career took them to Minnesota, Montana, Wyoming, Illinois and lastly Bismarck, ND where they made their home since 1982. He was a proud IBEW member for 44 years.

He married Jane Lambert on June 9th, 1981, in Rapid City, SD. They had 43 wonderful years of marriage. In their early years together, some of their favorite hobbies were riding motorcycles, camping, fishing, and road trips to SD to see family. One of his biggest achievements was building their forever home in the spring of 2007. Their favorite thing to do together was to be out in the yard planting trees and flowers and taking care of their dog Cider.

Terry will be deeply missed by his wife, Jane, his five children Todd (Tammy) Cooper, Ft. Dodge, IA; Nicole Cooper (Mike Speas), Mitchell, SD; Shawn (Mary) Cooper, Bismarck, ND; Renee (Aaron) Franklund, Bismarck, ND; Carrie (Nate) Wingenbach, Bismarck, ND; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. His brothers and sisters: Ann (Brad) Dibble, Keith (Taina) Karow, Lorri Chester, and Kevin Karow. His cousin Leslie Hall, niece and two nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepdad, Keith Karow; grandparents, Lillian and “Red” Peterson; mother and father-in-law, Phyllis and Clair Lambert; and his best friend Cider.

We would like to thank CHI Home Health for the excellent care Terry received over the years, a special thanks to Nicole, Jana and Heather – they were a tremendous help to us. We would also like to thank Dr. John Erickstad and Dr. Cameron Charchenko for their excellent care over the years.

Per Terry’s wish, no service will be held. Cremation has taken place, and a private family burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery.
