Faith McNamara Bellon, 78, Bismarck, formerly of Watford City and Dickinson, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at a Bismarck hospital with her children and her siblings at her side. A celebration of life will take place during the first week of July in Bismarck, details to follow, and her remains will be placed with her parents’ remains near Watford City, North Dakota shortly after.
Faith was born to Elvina Granlie McNamara and Robert McNamara on April 6, 1945. Her childhood years were spent in the small town of Watford City, where she attended grade school and graduated from high school. Shortly after that she became an accountant for Dakamont Motors.
In 1967, she spread her wings and went to work as a bookkeeper at St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Dickinson and met Marvin Bellon, who became the father of her two beautiful children, Darilyn and Dion.
In 1978, when she became a single parent, she took a holistic approach to her life and spent many years giving customer service at various health food stores, including owning a health food store at Gateway Mall. Later, she graduated from IBC College, then became employed at Contact America and became a licensed insurance agent. When she left there, she went to work at Pet Smart where she could express her new love: caring for and loving animals. After retirement, she continued with that cause and wanted to see North Dakota change their laws regarding animal abuse.
Her Irish heritage was very important to her and she loved her family deeply. She also valued her relationship with Jesus.
She is survived by her children, Darilyn Bellon and Dion (Jenna) Bellon; grandchildren Kylie, Blake, and Carmella; sister Renee Lowenstein; brother Carter (Teri) McNamara and her special friend Blake Graff. She was also very close to her nieces and nephews, and their children as well. She also left behind two special kitties, Lena and Tibby.
Faith was preceded in death by her brother, Dion (Mac) McNamara; 3 half-sisters and 7 half-brothers; her brother-in-law, LeeRoy Lowenstein; the father of her children, Marvin Bellon; her parents; her special niece, Darienne Lowenstein and her four cats Xanadu, Shalimar, Jasmine and Crystal.
