Delfine Wiedrich

Delfine Wiedrich, Garrison, 99 formerly of Zap and Beulah, died March 23, 2024 at the Benedictine Living Community, Garrison ND.

 A private family service will be held at 10:30 AM on April 1, 2024, with burial at the Beulah Community Cemetery, Beulah, ND.

Delfine was born on October 7, 1924, on a farm north of Beulah. She was the oldest child of Alex and Hertha (Herrmann) Weigum. She attended country school north of Beulah and Beulah High School. She worked at the Beulah Greystone Cafe and on the family farm until her marriage to Leo Wiedrich at the Wittenberg Church, Zap North Dakota. They lived on the family farm near Zap until their retirement in 1998 when they moved to Beulah. Delfine was a homemaker and farmer. She also served as the bookkeeper for the family’s hardware store in Zap. Delfine enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking for her family. She spent countless hours preparing and delivering hot meals during spring and harvest work. She was an avid reader and wanted her children to have educational and career opportunities that she could only dream about. A fond memory of Delfine’s family is her love of Easter. She wanted everyone to see the sunrise on Easter Morning and would always say that “today’s sunrise is proof that Christ has risen”.

Delfine is survived by her children, Karine Sioux Falls, SD, Brenda (Ray) Arizona, Garland (Janelle) Minot, Holly (Jay) Garrison, Faye Wiedrich Schmid Wyoming; sister, Evangiline Triber Hebron; sister-in-law, Celestine (Weigum) Hafner Beulah; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Delfine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo; sister, Lucille Flemmer; brother, Floyd Weigum.
