Rosemary “Rosie” Dukart, 91, passed away on March 24, 2024, at St. Gabriel’s Community Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Church of Corpus Christ. The service will be livestreamed on the Church of Corpus Christi website. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. at Bismarck Funeral Home.
Rosie was born on July 13, 1932, to Jacob and Rosa (Hochstein) Kuntz in Regent, North Dakota. She attended country school at Madison #4 up until the 5th grade.
Rosie married Alex Dukart on June 27, 1969, in Dickinson, North Dakota. They moved to Seattle Washington and then later moved back to Dickinson in 1988. She volunteered at the Southwestern District Health Unit, where she received many appreciation awards.
After Alex’s death, Rosie moved to Bismarck, and resided at St. Gabriel’s Community until the time of her death. Rosie loved playing cards, especially Durak. Rosie was well known for her vice-like grip, her up front honesty as she told it like it was, if you needed to be told to get to work or pay attention, she let you know, but of most importance to Rosie was her love for the Lord, she was a devoted Catholic and a member of Corpus Christi Church.
Rosie is survived by her sisters Agnes Regnaud, Frieda Wilson, Thelma Klein, Teddie (Kermit) Herner, many nieces and nephews (and their children) and special friends (Jackson Wandler family).
Rosie was preceded in death by her husband Alex Dukart, parents (Jacob and Rosa Kuntz), sisters (Sister Mary Noel, Betty Steiner, and Caroline Steiner), and brothers (Sam Kuntz, Val Kuntz, Mike Kuntz).
The family would like to give a special thanks to both the staff at St. Gabriel’s, as well as the hospice staff, both provided exceptional care. RIP Rosie, you are already deeply missed by many.
