Connie Rene Vetter, 72, of Minot, ND, gained her wings and left this earth to be with her Heavenly Father on March 1,2024. She passed away peacefully at Trinity Health in Minot, surrounded by her son and daughter-in-law, after experiencing a head injury due to a fall.
Connie Rene Hammer was born on March 2, 1951 in Minot, ND to Lorne and Deloris (Fluhrer) Hammer. She graduated from Minot High School in 1969. She was once married to Larry (Lawrence) Vetter. They were blessed with a son, Jeremy Vetter.
Connie was a stay-at-home mom, taking pride in raising their son. She found great joy in participating in school activities and attending his sporting events. At any time, you could still find her watching her favorite sporting events on TV. Connie was always excited to be on a winning streak at a slot machine at the casino. Train rides to Minneapolis to visit her family were always a sweet treat. She loved her job as a “lunch lady” with Minot Public Schools for more than 30 years. She had a very kind and caring soul, always looking after others. She especially loved family celebrations (she always brought the hamburger hotdish) and outings with her many close and dear friends.
Connie’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to nurses, doctors and support staff of Trinity Hospital for the care provided to our mom. Her life was a blessing, her memory is a treasure.
Connie is survived by her son: Jeremy (Stephanie) Vetter, Lakeville, MN; grandchildren Chelsie (Jordan) Carlson, Kalley (Wyatt) Vetter, and Brennen Vetter (Sydney Gourley); great grandchildren Aurora (Rorie) Carlson and Athena Carlson; siblings Carol (Corrie) Huber, Lorne (Bob) Hammer, Deloris (Dolly) Mickelson, Carlene Grenstiener, Cindy (Lavern) Fredriksen, and Craig (Michele) Hammer. Several nieces, grand nieces, nephews, grand nephews, and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lorne and Deloris Hammer and brothers-in-law, Jerome Mickelson and Jim (James) Grenstiener.
Celebration of Life for Connie: Saturday, March 23rd, from 4-6pm, at the VFW at 1100 31st Street SE, Minot ND.
