Curtis Strandemo, beloved husband, father, son and brother, passed away on March 18, 2024, at the age of 60 after a courageous battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.
Born in 1963, to John Strandemo and Christine Vetter, Curtis grew up in Bismarck and in 1980 he moved to Chicago where he operated a limousine service. In 1991, Curtis married his loving wife, Kristie Ann Schirado, and together they raised two wonderful children, Luther Curtis and Logan Curtis (Shelby).
About 4 years ago, Curtis began a second career at Basin Electric Cooperative where he was known for his hard work, and dedication. Recently his supervisor wrote, “I know we will all miss his smiling face and the joy and laughter that he brings to each and every one of his shifts. He is truly one of a kind and will be missed by all.”
Over the years, Curtis developed a passion for fishing and exploring Lake Sakakawea. He also loved raising pumpkins and was often called “The Pumpkin King” by all who loved him. He recently bought his pumpkin seeds as his goal was to have another pumpkin growing season however his body gave out before he could do so.
He is survived by his wife Kristie, his sons Luther and Logan (Shelby), his mother Christine Bitz, sisters Debra (Brian) Eiseman, Connie (Mike) Todd, Julie Knoll, mother-in-law Agnes Schirado and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his father, father-in-law and grandparents.
It was Curt’s wish to have no formal funeral services. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends and he will be deeply missed by all.
