Marlene Bertha (Franklund) Landsberger, 87, Bismarck, left this earth on March 19, 2024 to be with her husband, Kenneth. Funeral service will be held on Monday March 25, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Thomas R. Marcis Jr. officiating.  Burial will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Bismarck Funeral Home.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.  A livestream of the service will be available on the church website.

Marlene was born to Arthur and Bertha Franklund of Baldwin, ND on September 05, 1936.  She attended Eckland Township #2 School and Croft School.  She then attended Bismarck High School and graduated with the class of 1956.  Later that year, she married Carl Klein Jr. and they were married for 14 years until 1970.  To this union two children were born, Troy Klein and Tamara Keough.  Marlene then married the love of her life, Kenneth Landsberger, on October 14, 1972.  From this marriage, five more children were welcomed into Marlene’s family, Richard, Mary Jo, Andrew, Robert and Brenda.

She worked for Patterson Land Co. and then Basin Electric, which she retired from.  Marlene returned to work part-time for Wells Fargo until she went to full retirement.

Marlene was a very caring and understanding mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Grandchildren and great grandchildren could always bring a smile to her face.  Marlene and Kenneth enjoyed showing horses, boating, camping and spending time at their cabin with family.  During their retirement years, Kenneth and Marlene enjoyed traveling for many years.

She touched the hearts of many and will be dearly missed.

Marlene is survived by her children and their spouses, Richard (Marie) Landsberger, Mary Jo Landsberger, Andrew (LaRhonda) Landsberger, Robert (Tammy) Landsberger, Troy (Heather) Klein, Brenda Phelps and Tamara (Danny) Keough; grandchildren, Natasha (Mat) Carter, Tessa Morast, Bryan (Alex) Phelps, Brandon Boehm, Jerome (Katie) Klein, Ryan (Katelynn) Landsberger, Ariel (Steve) Weishaar, Hope Landsberger, Trevor Kocurek, Nick Keough, Tanner Keough, Megan Keough, Harley (Kayla) Engel, Cheyanne (Colby) Dukart, Mica Klein, Alex Landsberger, Thomas Landsberger; sixteen great grandchildren, Trysten, Landon, Kamden, Myla, Alora, Atiana, Kaleb, Emily, Zoey, Jacob, Eve, Lily, Kylee, Jeremiah, Fynn and Owen; sister, Mavis Buchholz; sister-in-law, Marlene Franklund.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; parents, Arthur and Bertha Frandlund; in-laws, Barbara Scherr and Joseph Landsberger; brothers, Willis Franklund and Dwight Franklund; sister, Ardith Williams; brothers-in-law, Rodger Buchholz, Clifford Williams, Tony Houn, Louis Frenzel, Al Eckroth; sisters-in-law, Arlene Houn, Betty Franklund, Alice Eckroth, Evon Landsberger; niece, Carrie Longenecker; nephews, Greg Franklund and Bryan Williams.
