Geraldine Gilbertson Pett

Geraldine Gilbertson Pett, 79, Denver, CO and formerly of Kenmare, ND died on February 27, 2024 in a Denver Hospital.

Geraldine Mae Gilbertson was born on March 22, 1944 in Kenmare, ND to Theodore and Voilet Gilbertson.  She was raised on a farm in Stafford Township, attended a rural elementary school and was baptized and active in the Newport Baptist Church until it closed; then, First Baptist Church in Kenmare.  She attended high school in Kenmare where she was active in the band as an award -winning snare drummer and was a member of the chorus and worked in the lunchroom to pay for her meals.  She graduated with honors from Kenmare High School in 1962 and continued her education at Mound Midway School of Nursing in St. Paul MN and graduated with honors despite health issues that would continue the rest of her life.  

Geraldine was once married to Harold “Hap” Enander of Stanley, ND.  They made their home in Stanley where she was employed as the Director of Nursing of the local hospital.  She was responsible for personnel management and other responsibilities to keep the hospital running smoothly at all times.  Geraldine was such an excellent employee that Drs. Covington and Bennett recommended her for the Physicians Assistant program at U.N.D. – Grand Forks and she attained the title of Physician’s Assistant in 1979.  Geri spent two winters working as a P.A.  in Haiti for World Missions prior to moving to Denver in the early 1980’s where she was employed at Safeway Food Stores and Spalding Rehabilitation Centers.  Her job included investigations of Worker’s Compensation cases, helping employees acquire there well-earned retirement/disability funds due to her very effective analysis of the issues.  Also, she was Program Manager for the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) at the Super Fund site of the Rocky Mountain Arsenal (RMA).  She managed health and safety issues of 900 contractors and 300 government employees.  Geraldine had her office at the RMA Police Department.  

Geraldine married LT David L. Pett on December 31, 1998 in Denver.  David was her soul mate for 25 years.  After Geraldine and Dave retired, Geri found a new mission leading several prayer teams for Appearance Ministries.  She also had a special gift for writing prayers and wrote several hundred of them.

Geraldine is survived by her husband Dave of Denver; children: Jared of Brighton CO and Kara Loundsberry of Denver; sister: Monica Loween of Minot and several cousins.  Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Geraldine’s life was well lived with great contributions to mankind.  She is in eternal rest with God her Father in Heaven.
