Donald Andrews

Donald “Don” James Andrews, 83, Minot, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 in a Garrison Nursing Care Center.

Don was born on May 28, 1940 in Rushville, Nebraska, the son of C. Stephen and Susan (Harris) Andrews.  He was raised and educated in Nebraska and entered into active duty service with the U.S. Air Force on September 25, 1959.  He honorably served his country and was stationed in Korea, Japan, two tours in Vietnam, and Germany, as well as states side in Florida and then Minot Air Force Base. He retired on September 30, 1980.

Don was united in marriage to Linda Sager on June 18, 1971. They met in 1968 when he was stationed at the Minot Air Force Base and Linda was a student at Minot State College.  After five years of marriage, they settled in Minot. Once retired from the military, Don was employed with Rochester Armored Car, Minot Restaurant Supply and Rice Oil.

Don was actively involved with the Civil Air Patrol, Ham Radio Club, VFW, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.  He was a member of Journey Assembly of God Church, where he had served on the Church Board and with the Royal Ranger Boys Club.  Don loved God with all of his heart and is now rejoicing in heaven free of pain and earthly cares.

His loving family includes, wife of 52 years, Linda; children, Jennifer (Mike) Mrugala, Maple Lake, MN, Melissa Andrews – Salvia and her husband, Bill, Crystal Lake, IL and Tara (Devin) Carlile, Valley Center, KS; grandchildren, Tarryn Andrews; William & Thomas Salvia; Claire,  Aubrey & Tessa Carlile; brother, Charles Andrews, Indianola, IA and brother in law, Tim Sager, Cando, ND; nephew, Franklyn (Kim) Andrews, Indianola, IA

Don was preceded in death by his father, C. Stephen Andrews, mother, Susan (Harris) Andrews-Brock; step-father, Forrest Brock; father in law, Melvin Sager and mother in law, Signe (Peterson) Sager.

Graveside Service: Monday, March 11, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. in Section 28 of Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
A gathering and fellowship will follow on Monday beginning at 2:00 p.m. in Journey Church located at 1805 2nd Street SE – Minot.
