Darlene Mary Tooke (St.Claire) passed away on February 25, 2024, in Bismarck, North Dakota, at the age of 74. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 4, at 1:00 p.m. at Sunne Lutheran Church with Rev. Darlene was born on August 28, 1949, in Rolette, ND. Darlene was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  Darlene was a radiant soul whose warm smile and gentle demeanor touched the lives of all who knew her. She was known for her kindness and selflessness, always making others feel valued and loved. Darlene’s passion for cooking filled her kitchen with love, and her family with delicious meals and treats. She found solace in nature during camping trips and cherished spending time with her beloved grandkids.  Darlene’s selflessness extended to taking in her nephew Jamie St. Claire, providing him with love and support until he graduated. Despite life’s challenges, Darlene maintained a positive outlook, leaving behind a legacy of love and happiness for all who knew her.

A long-term employee at San Haven, Darlene also took on numerous painting jobs on the side.  In 1989, she joined Great River Energy and dedicated herself until her retirement in 2009. Her hobbies included camping, cooking, spending time with her grandkids, and enjoying trips to the casino.

Darlene is survived by her loving husband James Tooke, sons Mike (Tina) Tooke, Blaine (Melissa) Tooke, grandchildren Brook, Jordan, Moana, Malia, Hudson, and Nevaya Tooke, brother Gary (Chris) St. Claire, sisters Lola St. Claire and friend (Jeff Garrison), Audrey Birkland and friend (Donny Berg), Rhonda (Wes) Wickum, Sandra (Randy) Will, nephew Jamie St. Claire.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother Lloyd and Clarine St. Claire, brother Larry St. Claire, sisters Geraldine King, Renee Solmonson, Karen Miller and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
