Virginia Feist, 86, Velva died on Saturday, June 26, 2021 in her home with her loving family at her side.
Virginia Ruth was born on October 19,1934 in Crosby, ND to Harry and Martha (Hystad) Fry. She was raised on a farm near Wildrose and attended Liberty Country School until the family moved to a farm North of Velva in 1941. Her education then continued at the Finneseth Country School (North Prairie School # 2). The family moved to Velva in 1947 and Virginia finished her education at Velva High School where she was a cheerleader, statistician, and active in band and choir, graduating in 1952. Then, she furthered her education at Minot State University.
Virginia married Neal Feist, her high school sweetheart, on February 20, 1954 at Oak Valley Lutheran Church in Velva. They made their home on the East edge of Velva where they raised their family of five children. They owned and operated a meat processing business and she was a full-time wife, mother, and homemaker.
Virginia was a member of Oak Valley Lutheran Church, and so enjoyed attending the three nearby country churches, and most recently, United Methodist Church of Velva. She was an avid Velva Aggie booster and very supportive of her children and grandchildren in their activities, and especially enjoyed bowling and music (singing, playing piano, attending concerts, and dancing). Her kind heart and accepting personality made all feel welcome.
