Audrey Chole-Eidsness

Audrey Chole-Eidsness, 86, Minot, died Tuesday, January 23, 2024, in a Minot hospital.

Audrey was born on January 16, 1938, in Minot to Selmer and Betty (Reigstad) Mikkelson. She was raised and educated in the South Prairie area (Freedom Township), and later graduated from Minot High School in 1955. Audrey went on to be employed at Minot Drug and was later trained as a dental assistant. She began employment with Dr. Vandenover, and also worked for Dr. Hoffman and Dr. Seiffert.
On October 17, 1958, Audrey married Erwin Chole at Bethany Lutheran Church. They made their home in Minot and had four children. Erwin passed away on August 6, 1989. After her dental career, Audrey spent time working at Trinity Hospital and Prairie Rose Home Service as a home health care provider for several years. She married Robert Eidsness on December 5, 1992, in Minot. He passed away on September 22, 2003.

Audrey held many memberships throughout her years, being involved in her passions and community were important to her. She was a life-long member of Bethany Lutheran Church. The daughter of Norwegian parents, she was proud of her Scandinavian heritage and loved volunteering at the Norsk Hostfest. She was also a member of the Eagle’s, Elks, BLCW, Women of the Moose, American Cancer Society, Rainbow Garden Club, and Trinity Auxiliary. Audrey stayed involved with Trinity Hospice and at the Trinity ICU by volunteering whenever she could. In her free time, Audrey enjoyed tending to her garden, reading, or traveling.

Audrey is survived by her children: Terry (Kristi) Chole, Minot, Tim (Penny) Chole, Minot, and Tricia Plemel, Scottsdale, AZ; son-in-law: Bert Hauge, Stanley, ND; step children: Larry (Holly) Eidsness, Minot, Carolyn (Jim) Bodell, Minot, and Rodney Eidsness, Indianapolis, IN; brother-in-law: Jack (Kay) Laughridge, Jordan, MN; grandchildren: Hesston Hauge, New Town, ND, Morgan (Dakota) Seymour, Dillon, MT, and Jack Plemel, Phoenix, AZ; great grandchildren: Remuda and River Seymour; and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Erwin Chole and Robert Eidsness; daughter, Tami Hauge; brother Sherman Mikkelson, and sister, Sandra Laughridge.

A public visitation will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot. A private funeral service will be held for family.
