Robert Heinze

Robert L. Heinze of Salton City, CA passed away on December 5, 2023 in his home with his loving wife by his side.

Robert (Bob) was born November 15, 1961 to Donald and Laurie Heinze in Minot, ND. He graduated from Deering High School in 1980.

Prior to moving to California, Bob worked for Farmers Union Elevator. He was an employee of the Salton Community Services District for the past 4 years. Prior to that, he made his mark in just about every concrete project on the West Shores. Friends say that there isn’t a place in Salton City or the surrounding areas that doesn’t have “Concrete Bob’s” expertise as a cement layer.

Bob’s pride and joy was his son Chase who was born in April of 1990. Bob was so proud of him and the man he grew to be. Most important were the two grandsons that Chase and Cassandra blessed him with.

Bob met his wife and soulmate Lisa Songer of 14 years in Salton City. They were engaged in 2011 and married in 2017, both on January 28th.

Bob was an avid fisherman and hunter but also loved riding his off road vehicle anywhere he could with friends. Good times were had when he, Lisa, and Chase would come back to North Dakota to fish for the big walleyes and see family & friends.

Bob is survived by his wife Lisa, son Chase (Cassandra) Heinze, grandsons CJ and Brayden, stepdaughter Amber Lynn Stoddard and her sons, Chris and Danny, siblings Ronald (Lori), Rick (Linda), Robin (Lyle) Johnson, Ryan (Ashley), Rusty (Angie), and Rocky Heinze, plus several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Laurie Heinze, sister Rachelle, grandparents, Alfred and Johanna Heinze, Berton and Dorothy Johnson, uncles Harold Wald, Kenneth Johnson, Norman Beck, aunt and uncle, Ardyth and Tony Merck.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 28 at 1:30 pm at Bob and Lisa’s home, 2554 N Marina Drive in Salton City. A sunset ride with buggies and off road vehicles will take place in remembrance of Bob.

A North Dakota Celebration of Life will be held later in the spring 2024. Date to be announced.
