Warren Dockter, 88, Minot, died Wednesday, January 17, 2024, in a Minot hospital.
Warren was born December 19, 1935, in Anamoose, ND to Reinhold and Margaret (Ruff) Dockter. He was raised and educated in Minot, ND. He graduated from Minot Model High School in 1955.
Warren enlisted into the US Navy in 1955. He served honorably and was discharged from active duty in 1959. He returned to North Dakota following his military service and joined his father in the operation of Doc’s Carpet Insulation for the next twenty-three years. Warren was once married to Beverly Graham/Freeman.
Warren took a position with the Minot Post Office serving the community until his retirement in 1999. Warren married Karen L. Herdt on October 4, 1982 in Minot. They enjoyed the next 41 years of love and companionship together.
Warren was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and the Eagles Aerie, both of Minot and the Postal Workers Union #1152. He enjoyed stamp collecting and dabbled in the computer world. He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor.
Warren is survived by his loving wife Karen, Minot; sons Lonnie (Sue Lattimore) Dockter, Waubun, MN and Shane (Sandra) Dockter, Great Bend, KS; daughter Randi Monley, Minot; grandchildren Holden and Felix Monley.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Joni Dockter.
Family and friends are invited to sign a memorial register book and share their condolences on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the Thomas Family Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Military Honors will conclude the gathering at the funeral home.
A private family service will be held in the summer of 2024.
