Shirley Ann Abel, 75, of Minot, ND, went to meet her Savior on July 9, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born January 21, 1946, to John and Esther (Miller) Kelm and was raised in Harvey, ND, along with her sister and brother. She later moved to Minot, ND, and worked various places until she started her own electrolysis business, dedicating over 30 years to her clients.
Shirley’s greatest joys were her children and eight grandchildren. She was the most kind, loving, and thoughtful person we knew. She spent many hours fishing, hunting, cheering at hockey games, soccer games, and track meets. Whatever activity her family was doing she was there to support them.
Always up for an adventure, Shirley loved going on road trips with her family. She was someone you could count on and she made sure everyone was included. Holidays were extra special to her and she wanted them to be memorable for her grandchildren. She was affectionately known as Nana to her family and they all loved and adored her. Nana expressed what God’s love looks likes on earth. We are forever blessed that God gave her to our family.
She is survived by: Daughter Terry (Don) Johnson, son Brad (Andrea) Abel; eight grandchildren: Shane Johnson, Samuel Abel, David Abel, Matthew Abel, Ethan Abel, Sarah Abel, Luke Abel and Michael Abel and nephews: Roger John Kelm and Justin Abel.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, sister Donna, and brother Roger.
There will be no reviewal, a private family service will take place at the Thomas Family Funeral Home.
