Kenneth Carl Schultz, 85, Minot formerly of Grand Forks, passed away Sunday April 12, 2020 at Trinity Homes in Minot ND.
Ken’s memorial service will be held on July 31, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Medora Room at The View.
A dairyman and dairy farm inspector in Eau Claire WI and Minot ND, Ken joined the Grand Forks Health Department as a junior inspector in 1965 and retired as the Director of the combined city and county Health Departments after 29 years of service.
In Grand Forks, Ken was a Sunday school teacher and Hospice volunteer, and a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Elks and Eagles clubs. He served as presidents of Calvary Lutheran Church council, Grand Forks PTA, and the city employee Credit Union. A Boy Scout leader for 25 years, he holds the district Award of Merit and national adult Silver Beaver award.
Ken enjoyed, in his spare time, constructing and refinishing buildings and furniture, fishing, hunting, gardening, painting and wood carving, and was a 25 year square dancer.
Ken is survived by Elinor, his wife of 62 years; daughter Judith (Rodney) Krause, Minot ND and son Joseph, Cummings ND; grandchildren Jeremy Krause, Minot ND and Melissa (Patrick) Haskins, Velva ND; three great grandchildren Oliver, Garrison and Theodore; brothers Dale, Nick, Alan and Larry, sisters Shirley, Alice, Peggy and Lois and cherished family and friends throughout the country. Ken was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Elaine and sister Carol.
